In a previous post I talked about when I was a child, I would ask questions of who created us, and who created the one that created us. The questions became unending as they started to unravel unto themselves. With every question, others came that would question those questions.

Until recently, the questions were constantly there and no amount of possible answers to the questions were satisfactory. In consulting my guru and meditating on those questions, I realize that the mind is very cunning in coming up with futile questions to keep itself occupied. At the end of the day, getting answers to those questions do nothing for us except keep our minds focused on something else other than living in the now.

Most of us have been taught that it’s all in the hands of the man upstairs. We project what we think God is or should be in order to be comforted in our seeming state of despair when we can’t explain things or need a way to make sense of certain situations. When I say we project, I mean that we give God personality – perfect, absolute, compassion, omni this, omni that. These are things that is used by every religion.

I propose that we stop projecting those personalities onto something that we’re been trying to define and understand for so long. If we are not there to project, then god simply disappears. The energy or godliness that is left goes on being. In essence, dropping the personality projection, we let God be free from the personality that we have placed upon him. When we’re able to do that, we see things in a whole new light – energy just flows; existence just goes on and on – it goes on being alive.

So, what happens to us when we do that? We awake to the realization that we are responsible for ourselves and that existence is just is. It is indifferent…it’s is well balanced and not in either extreme. We realize that existence is extremely intelligent and that we are that existence. We are the highest evolution of existence and it is dependent on us.

Each one of our goals should be to be non-judgmental, grow beyond mind, and take responsibility for ourselves. Existence will rejoice once we’re able to get that point.

I know most people will probably not agree with what I’ve written here, so I encourage you to let your thoughts be know so we can converse about it.

Namaste!

I’ve been scantly paying attention to the recent suspension of a priest in Germany because of sexual abuses of children. The pope, then a cardinal, approved the transfer of that priest to another location. Now, hundreds of people are coming forward alleging sexual abuse and physical violence.

I am often reminded of the teachings of my teacher, Osho, when it comes to our nature and our existence. Whatever is suppressed eventually surfaces one way or another.

I remember when I was young child, I attended church every Sunday because it was what a catholic did without question…specially as a child. I think when I was 8 or so, I thought I about becoming a priest. That was a brief notion, however.

Come to think of it, I did not know what becoming a priest involved at that age. As I matured, I came to learn that priests can’t get married and must be celibate. Who the heck ever came up with that idea, I thought to myself. Why would I want to go against nature and be miserable because you can’t indulge in your existence?

Being celibate goes against nature. When one goes against nature, he becomes a schizophrenic. Our hole being is in nature, how can you go against it and believe that you must do so in order to be part of “the club?” As Osho states, “So you may take a vow of celibacy, but that does not change your biology; it does not change your physiology. It is just a mind concept, just words. Your blood will go on creating sexual energy, you body will go on creating sexual hormones.”

This creates anguish, misery, and guilt. You cannot just suppress with words, because your nature is part of existence. You can’t suppress existence.

And this concept does not only relate to celibacy and what’s currently going on and have been going on with priests in the church. This can be applied to anything where your body, because of the chemicals it produces, naturally follows a natural order. But now, here you come with your mind and outsiders convincing you to conform to things that go against your nature. It is all part of existence.

Take dancing as another example. Some people will hear music and have an urge to tap their feet or get up and dance. Still others will sit stoic like and unable to enjoy the music, which is part of existence, because their religion, parents, or whomever don’t allow it. That’s just words to me. It creates a duality in you that does not need to be present, if only you just followed your nature.

Don’t cause yourself misery, anguish, and duality in yourself. You are existence, so exist!

Namaste!

I could never understand the statement that some people make that they’re a God fearing person. I’ve tried to understand what they say, and even the explanation that have been provided to help my understanding. I must say, however, that it has not worked. I’m still stumped and baffled by the statement.

I’m not sure if it’s something that was developed through their upbringing in the church or if their priest or pastor drilled it in their heads that God is something to be feared. I remember when I was younger and going to church, and passages from the old testament were read, how negative and fearful those words were. I could not understand it, and I still don’t.

It was not until I embarked on my own journey did I come to understand of the different levels in which the bible and other religious texts were written. The majority of people just take the stories literally and do not go deeper for the real meanings.

If you’re one of those people who is a God fearing person, I ask you to think of this…there is an absolute Intelligence that created this universe, the sun, me, you, so forth and so on. I would say that creation exists out of love and only through love could something so awesome ever be created. I’m sure you know where I’m going with this, but if you don’t, just follow me a bit more.

Out of love we exist; and your kids, family, and everyone you know exist because of that same love. If it is all love, where does the fear come from? I can see if one would say that they are in awe of God, or that they are reverent of God – I am fine with either of those statements – that would make sense to me. But, to be in fear of the Spirit That Is is not compatible.

Let me ask you this…do you love what you fear or are you afraid and are angry with what you fear? I surmise that it’s the latter. Look at the world today and tell me that most people are not a fearful bunch. And out of that fear, all sorts of things are being done under the guise of keeping us safe. We don’t understand and are therefore fearful. This fear makes us mistrust others, which makes us guarded. Do you see how that thought of fear has basically morphed into other things?

I have a few suggestions and they are simple ones to follow if you choose to follow them. Number one is to stop taking for gospel what the priests and pastors tell you on Sundays. Follow your own path to arrive at your truth. I’m not saying to completely discount they say, because you can always pull nuggets of goodness from other people. What I mean is for you to open yourself to others, meditate to get the wisdom from within. All you need to know is within you.

Number two is to remove the word fear from your vocabulary as it relates to Source Energy. As I said before, we are here out of love, so how can we be fearful of the Spirit that Is? Once you remove the fear, love will start to pour out of you. The fear is no longer there to inhibit the flow of love. Being in fear does not fit the God part of you. Remove the fear in order to reconnect with the power source that’s inside you that’s all love and completeness.

Number three is a passage that you should really take to heart. “Love thy neighbor as thyself, for thy neighbor is thyself.” You are your neighbor…meditate on that one. It is something I’m going to talk more about in future posts as it relates to consciousness.

Namaste!

I’m not sure if you have seen the movie Avatar. If you have not, I truly recommend it. The computer graphics if out of this world, specially when you see it in 3D. The story is pretty good as well, if you can see beyond the visual effects and really get into it.

Some people, I’m sure, will be captivated by the graphics and the, “wow! that’s so cool” effects of the movie and miss the lessons. I’m not going to give the plot of the movie away if you’ve not seen it, but will relate what I saw to what I know.

Do you ever wonder why the Native Americans and the eastern cultures always talk about our connection to each other? Do you think they know something that the rest of us don’t know or refuse to see and understand? I’m going to answer that and say that it’s both.

Most people, upon hearing that we’re all connected, will dismiss it as something hokie. That initial dismissal brings about the refusal to see and understand what is said. Why is that? Is it because we’re more logic and science minded in the “West” that we don’t believe in the unseen?

It is a bit interesting putting it in those terms because most of the “west” belong to some type of religion that talks about faith and people that faith believe in the unseen. So, why is it hard to believe in the underlying spirit that unites us all?

When we are logic and science minded, we have accumulated knowledge and we think we know when in reality, we don’t know anything. How do you believe you know anything? Things change so quickly and yet most think they know. Knowing is not accumulation of knowledge. It is something deeper, something that is innate once we get logic, science, and mind out of the way. I talked about that a few posts ago. Check out it here

So, the interconnectedness that I’m referring to is the one energy that we have our being in. It is all that there is. As it says in the bible, “Man shall live by bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.”

Here’s a different explanation of the above quote. Yes, we do need food to survive…not really, but we’ll go with that notion for now. But, we also need the spiritual energy that permeates everything. Word is not the actual word that “religious officials” would have you believe; that you need to attend church in order to hear “the word” in order to live. Word is energy that comes from spirit…the only source of it all.

I will end with this quote from Buddha, “All beings tremble before violence. All fear death, all love life. See yourself in others. Then whom can you hurt? What harm can you do?” We are of the same source and hence are the same. Change your perspective and see yourself in others because you are the other.

In thinking on what to write the other day, intuition immediately jumped out at me. This is the process I go by when I do the post, by the way. I ask myself what to write next and whatever jumps out, wins.

Anyway, back to developing intuition. I want to first differentiate between knowing and knowledge. Let’s start with knowledge first.

Knowledge to me is very burdensome. I don’t know about you, but I’ve accumulated a lot of stuff in my head that really don’t do much for me in the day to day. Everything is more compartmentalized when you have knowledge of something. That thing is now put in a category. That’s how we build our reality, isn’t it? Our reality, our idea of truth, is filled with nothing but things that are separate. With knowledge, we have the object and the subject. We have a divide between the knower and the known and there’s really no way to create that bridge between the two.

I never really understood this, but what’s written in the bible is absolutely true that man has fallen through knowledge by eating from the tree of knowledge. One would say that knowledge is good but I believe that knowledge has created an unbridged distance. How can that be good? They mystery and wonder are lost when you think you know.

Let’s talk about knowing for a little bit. Knowing is wholeness. There is no division anywhere with it because it’s an experience. Knowing is a spiritual process. Without verbalizing or compartmentalizing you experience and that experience gives you the knowing, the ownership.

How does one develop intuition based on this little information about knowledge and knowing? The thing to remember is that you want wholeness. No more acquiring theories or information to further create divide in you.

I know that I don’t know it all. Anyone who does is foolish! There are so many things that we’ve not experienced and am in wonderment just thinking about it. This is where knowing lies, in mystery, in wonderment. I’ve been able to become a lot more open minded through meditation. In meditation there are no divisions, only mystery. Everything is whole through meditation because you are not accumulating knowledge; there are no divisions being created and formed.

If you have read my previous posts, you know that I put a lot of emphasis on meditation. I think it is the great equalizer to going back to being spiritual and bridging all the divisions that have occurred with us. It is something that I truly recommend that one does on a daily basis. There is no magic to developing intuition. You just have to get out of the head and into the heart and you do through meditation. So, go meditate.

Namaste!

I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of all the finger pointing that goes on in our society today. Sure, there is plenty of blame that can go around, but when will somebody take responsibility?

This is out topic of discussion of for today: Stop finger pointing and take responsibility!

Do you know that when you “point” that index finger, you have three other fingers that point back at you? And I don’t mean that just in the literal sense. Since I see you scratching your head, I’ll let you in on the figurative meaning of that statement and it deals with the law of attraction.

Where does the law of attraction come into play?

We are all made of atoms that are constantly radiating energy. That energy imprints itself on the fabric of the Universe/Spirit and brings us the circumstance/event/thing that we have been focusing with feelings on the most. I’m sure you’ve heard that thoughts are things and that energy follow thought. So, the more you think about something with feeling, the more energy that follows that thought, and eventually events, people, circumstances occur to crystallize what you’ve been thinking into the physical.

The Universe always brings you what you put out with feelings. It may not come in the time or fashion you want, but it comes. The reason why it may take longer is because we have seeds of doubt that slow its manifestation. The point is that you bring about all circumstances and events that take place in your life – knowingly and unknowingly. It’s up to you to learn the laws.

I’m sure some will ask about how people bring about tragic events in their lives. The answers to that are karma and reincarnation and they are pieces of the creation process that I will cover in another post that puts everything into balance and perspective.

So, let’s tie this all up within the topic of this post of stop finger pointing and taking responsibility.
If you accept the premise that we are responsible for everything that occurs in our lives, then it makes sense that you are the cause of your happiness or sadness, or your financial affluence or lack thereof, of even the current state of things in society.

To really be free is to accept total responsibility for it all. Anything else makes you reliant upon things that are outside of you. Having a “fall guy” allows you to dump your garbage on someone else. “I’m not responsible…so and so is the one. Or, such and such happened and that’s why I’m in this mess.” This kind of mindset disarms you completely and leaves you naked and powerless. Not feeling responsible for your actions, your being, or your thoughts makes you a slave.

You are waiting for something, someone, other than you to be responsible. How can you grow since you have not accepted the challenge? You are more powerful than you think, but you don’t even give yourself a chance because you’ve relinquished your power to destiny, fate, people and circumstance. Claim that power back – pull that energy back to you – by first claiming that you’re responsible and then accepting responsibility from that moment on.

Everyone loves stories! So, here’s mine and how I was affected and came to know this information. I went through a breakup a few years ago and it was a very painful affair. I’m not saying that I had an affair; just that it was a painful event. Anyway, I was able to get through it by doing a specific type of meditation. Through it all, I was able to really evaluate and see where things went wrong and what could’ve taken place instead.

It was in that time that I started taking responsibility for my contribution to the demise of my relationship. It was so empowering to pull that energy back into me. I was “bleeding” energy by giving that person and event so much influence. I felt as if I could not do anything and the more I thought about it, the more energy I gave it until it really felt as if that was the case. Remember I did say that energy follows thought. I changed my thinking and changed the nature of the energy that was going out.

This can be applied to any situation that you may currently be facing. Know that you are responsible and that first step will help you regain the energy that you think you were not able to control.

I know there are going to be a lot of questions, so feel free to post them here and I’ll either answer them individually, or write another post if I see a theme in the questions that are asked.

Namaste!

Patience is something that a lot of people find themselves unable to develop and cultivate.

Let’s first define the term, patience. Webster’s define patience as the quality of being patient, as the bearing of provocation, annoyance, misfortune, or pain, without complaint, loss of temper, irritation, or the like; an ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay.

That definition works just fine, but I don’t quite agree with the second definition – ability or willingness to suppress. Suppressing anything eventually manifests in other ways that one does not want or intend. Suppression is a whole other post that I will probably cover in the future.

Now that we have defined patience is, let’s get back to how to develop it.

The first thing to remember is that everything happens in Divine Time and Divine Order. Just because you want something to happen “yesterday” does not mean that it will – not even if you hold your breath in order to make it so.

I recently read something by one of my favorite teachers, Osho, about time consciousness. What does this have to do with patience, you say? Well, because of time and the invention of clocks and watches, we’re constantly mindful and reminded of how slowly things go or how fast events seem to take place. This ‘time consciousness’ has made us impatient. The below quote is not meant to bash any specific religion, but to demonstrate how we are influenced. This is a bit long, but it’s good stuff.

In the East it has been believed always that life goes on forever and ever, it is eternal, it is timeless — so there is no hurry; you will be again and again. Millions of times you were here and millions of times you will be again here; there is no hurry. This life is not the last nor the first, it is a long procession, and you are always in the middle — there is no beginning and no end. So there can be no hurry about time; enough time, more than enough, is available.

Buddha is not historic, Krishna is not at all; you can never be certain whether really Krishna was ever born or not, whether the whole thing was just a story or a history. But the East was never worried about it. They say everything is a story, and it has been told many times and will be told again and again. There is no need to be concerned with facts, because facts are repetitive. It is better to be concerned with the theme, not with the facts — so you may not be able to understand many things.

With Christianity there is only one life — this is the first and the last. Once you die you don’t have any time any more; so you have a lifespan of seventy years at the most. There is so much to do, and so little time with you. That’s why in the West there is so much hurry; everyone is running because life is going. Every moment life is becoming less and less. Time is passing, you are dying, and you have so many desires to fulfill and no time to fulfill them, so anxiety is created.

In the East it was totally different. It is said in one of the Tibetan scriptures that even if you have to go in a hurry, go slowly. Even if you have to go in a hurry, go slowly. It is said that if you run you will never reach; if you sit you can reach, but if you run you will miss. An eternal procession, many lives, millions of lives, enough time — patience was possible.

In the West only one life, and every moment life changing into death; nothing is fulfilled, no desire completed, everything incomplete — how can you be patient? How can you wait? Waiting has become impossible. With the idea of one life, and with another idea of linear time, Christianity has created anxiety in the mind; and now Christianity has become a global influence.

Christianity says that time is not moving in a circle, it is moving in a straight line. Nothing is going to be repeated again, so everything is unique. Every event is once and for all, it cannot be repeated. It is not a circle; it is not like a wheel of a cart moving where every spoke will come again, where again and again the same spoke will be repeated.

In the East time is a circular concept, just like seasons moving in a circle. The summer comes and then the summer will come again, and it has been so always and it will be so always. And the Eastern concept is nearer to truth than the Western, because every movement is in a circle. The earth moves in a circle, the sun moves in a circle, the stars move in a circle, the life moves in a circle — every movement is circular. So time cannot be an exception; if time moves at all, it moves in a circle. The linear concept of time is absolutely wrong.

That’s why in the East we were never interested in history. We have been interested in myth, but never in history. The West introduced history into the world. That’s why Jesus became the center of history, the beginning of the calendar. We go on measuring time with “before Christ,” “after Christ.” Christ became the center of all history, the first historic person.

So, let’s get back to patience and how to cultivate it. I’m going to just mention one word, and that word it meditation. I talked about it in the previous post and how it’s important. How else can you develop patience with yourself and with others than by getting to know the real you and going within. Meditation will help you accomplish more than you realize.

I’m sorry to disappoint you if you thought I was going to get all philosophical and give you tips and whatnot to your seeming problem. It does not have to be that difficult. Nature can be the greatest teacher if we observe and see how we can apply what we see. The below is a perfect example of that.

We have forgotten how to wait; it is almost an abandoned space. And it is our greatest treasure to be able to wait for the right moment. The whole existence waits for the right moment. Even trees know it–when it is time to bring the flowers and when it is time to let go of all the leaves and stand naked against the sky. They are still beautiful in that nakedness, waiting for the new foliage with a great trust that the old has gone, and the new will soon be coming, and the new leaves will start growing. We have forgotten to wait, we want everything in a hurry. It is a great loss to humanity…. In silence and waiting something inside you goes on growing–your authentic being. And one day it jumps and becomes a flame, and your whole personality is shattered; you are a new man. And this new man knows what ceremony is, this new man knows life’s eternal juices. ~Osho.

So, go back to that post, read about meditation, and apply it to your life. Here’s to you in developing and cultivating patience in the New Year.

Namaste!
